I am using the CR 8.5 edition of .rpt Inspector with Crystal Reports 8.5 installed on my system and when I click on “Save” or “Save As” in .rpt Inspector, I’m not seeing those changed committed to the report.
This is a known issue with Crystal Reports 8.5 (prior to service pack 2) and Crystal Reports 9 (prior to service pack 2). .rpt Inspector makes certain API calls to Crystal Reports. The API for Save is broken in Crystal Reports 8.5 prior to service pack 2, and in Crystal Reports 9 prior to service pack 2.
